What I Once Said

I was with a good friend one time and we were looking through photographs on flickr. He showed me a man that basically inspired most of his work. I understood why, it was beautiful. I also felt odd and I told him this. I've never really had one person or thing inspire me. Its a collection of life's experiences instead. I didn't realize at the time that it was okay that I felt that way and now I feel like it should be more than just one person or thing that inspires you.

Not only do you have to be inspired but you should also have passion about what ever you are doing. If the passion isn't there you won't make it far - you'll end up unhappy with what you're doing.

I think that this is why so many people are afraid of going after something like being a writer, artist, photographer, chef, composer etc...because you let fear of failing, not being passionate, (basically doubt) stand in your way. I'm mostly talking to myself right now. I don't know why but I have been questioning every little detail of my existence for the past six months and it's driving me insane.
