Uncertainty

I am terrified.
This is a new territory for me so excuse my clumsiness
over your new words, your thoughtful eyes, your presence.

I am trying.
Every step sends me farther into the dark and unknown.
I stumble with every laugh, every look, every dance.

I am hopeful.

Although I am terrified and stumbling,
something is saying to me "Don't look away just yet."
And so I glance at the possibility every so often
and catching it staring back at me every time.
